The late Stanley Kubrick's 13th and final movie, which took an astonishing two years to shoot, may well be an erotic drama, but if you're expecting titillation or controversy, forget it. Real-life spouses Cruise and Kidman play the smug marrieds whose perfect life goes pear-shaped when Kidman reveals that she's fantasised about sex with a stranger. Shocked and affronted by this perceived slur on his own virility, Cruise embarks on his own odyssey of sexual exploration, beginning with a couple of casual encounters. But when he's drawn to an underground sex club, he enters a world over which he has no control but which could be the ruin of him and his marriage. Very long.
