FANNY AND ELVIS (1999)
KAY MELLOR
Plot
British rom-com set in picturesque Yorkshire, where romantic novelist Kerry Fox's biological clock is ticking away at an alarming rate. After a furious pub car-park row with complete stranger Ray Winstone, the pair discover that their respective spouses are having an affair, and, before you can say "eh-oop", Winstone has moved into Fox's spare room, from whence he fends off evil stares and catty comments from her identikit gay best friend. Naturally, the reluctant housemates loathe each other, which means that the look of lurve can't be too far off. A brave attempt, but there are far too many stereotypes flying around.
