SHAMPOO (1975)
HAL ASHBY
Plot
Warren Beatty plays a womanising hairdresser in this satire on the easy come, easy go sexual morals of the late 1960s. Hoping, ultimately, to open his own salon Beatty's character is hamstrung not only by his own libido, but his dodgy financier with whose wife and daughter he is sleeping and who shares the same mistress. 'Shampoo' was a light, but still sharp, antidote to much of the intense Hollywood drama of the 1970s.
