Plot

Chuck Noland works for a global delivery company and is a man ruled by time; but a fatal plane crash radically changes our hero's way of thinking when he is forced to adapt to life of solitude and scarcity on a small deserted island. Tom Hanks delivers another power house performance, and being the only person present for much of the film (bar a stoic and doomed football) he single handedly carries the story well. The first part of the movie and particularly the last twenty minutes I could have done without, but Castaway is a fine Hollywood drama nonetheless.
