A worthy sequel to the bowel releasing original sees Ryuji's girlfriend taking up the quest to unravel the mysteries of the killer video tape and the dark history of its malevolent star, Sadako. Ring 2 follows very much the same format as the first film, tense, fearful and grimly brooding it also feels no need to provide us with a redemptive finale. Intelligent, stylish horror.
