I AM A CAMERA (1955)
HENRY CORNELIUS
Plot
A penniless young writer living in '30s Berlin has a life affirming, if platonic, relationship with Sally, a vivacious and ammoral nightclub singer. But this is the time of the Third Reich and the couple's hedonistic world is becoming a dangerous one as the fear and hatred of Nazism swiftly encroaches upon their personal lives. I Am A Camera is a witty, decadent and dark piece of British cinema and inspiration for the classic, and much better, "Cabaret".
