Plot

A young woman is haunted by the feeling that she is the harbinger of death to those who are close to her, a theory that seems to borne out by her husband's suicide. Recovering from the tragedy she remarries and moves from the city to a small fishing village, but though she appears to have found happiness she cannot escape her quiet feeling of dread. Maborosi is a beautiful film, gentle, striking and utterly absorbing.
